6. Blog Assignment #6: Due Thursday, May 31, 2012 by Midnight
Research at least four different creative pieces (of different genres) about 9/11 (songs, poems, short stories, artwork, etc.). In your post, make sure to include the genre, title, and author/creator of each text that you chose along with your interpretation/reflection of each text. In addition, include your sources in MLA format. 

If you used videos, pictures, artwork, etc. already in the previous blogs you may reuse them!  Just include your interpretation/reflection on each!

Research and answer the following topics about the history of the Towers and the 9/11 Memorial.
You may either summarize or bullet point the following:
-the date the World Trade Center was first built
-the business conducted inside
-the timeline for the creation of the 9/11 Memorial in Ground Zero.
-the thought process behind the architectural design of the Memorial and new building
-the memorial services held there and how the public honors the deceased

Log onto EBSCO Host to research the topics of Grief and Mourning. Using at least two scholarly articles. Summarize and reflect on your findings.
Your summary should include the answers to the following questions:
-How do people deal with trauma and loss?
-Are there different stages of grief? What are they?
Your reflection should also connect to a character in Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.
Include your sources in MLA format.

Research the biographies of three deceased victims of 9/11.
Use this website to find one person who died in the Pentagon: http://pentagonmemorial.org/explore/biographies
Then research two other victims from the towers. Summarize each of their biographies. Include your sources in MLA format.

Next, research the lives of two heroes of 9/11, who courageously risked their own lives to help others. Include a summary of their lives and their heroic act. 

Include all your sources in MLA format.  

You are providing me with five different SUMMARIES of five different people.  Paraphrase and summarize!! Do no cut and paste.

Find research on the following topics using at least 5 different sources:
-The terrorists involved in 9/11
-Osama bin Laden, Al Qaeda and the Taliban (their role in 9/11)
-The effects of 9/11 on the Muslim community
- The effects of 9/11 on America (sense of unity, view on terrorists, airport security, etc.)
Note: Your information on these topics should come from a variety of different genres/sources (photos, news articles, documentaries, interviews, speeches, etc.). One of your sources MUST come from EBSCO Host with a citation included.

Research exactly what happened on 9/11/2001. Utilizing your research, create a chronological list of events that occurred beginning on September 11, 2001 to present day.  You should have at least 15 markers on your timeline.
          Information may include:
- When the hijackers boarded the plane
- The times of the different attacks (NYC and D.C.)
- The time the towers fell
- Time broadcasted on the news
- Security response
- Response to the attack (i.e. war)
